WHY CAN'T I FORGIVE

Why Can’t I Forgive

Friday 10th December 2021 Devotion
Scripture:- Matthew 6:1-15
Topic:- Why Can’t I Forgive

A brother, who is a member of our fellowship was in my house yesterday.

He came to inform me that he has made up his mind to marry a second wife because his wife offended him.

And guess who he wants to marry?

Another sister in the fellowship, who is also willing to marry him because she too is also offended.

That’s the kind of Christians we have today in the Church.

I always tell myself that when you live your life without anyone hurting, disappointing, disgracing, or offending you, then it means you never did anything worthy.

I want to tell you that there are so many people who are buried daily, and their crime is that someone they offended couldn’t forgive them.

There are innocent orphans and street children out there whose crime is that someone didn’t forgive their parents.

The reality is that even as you read this piece, there may be someone you have blocked on WhatsApp or Facebook.

Or you have decided not to respond to his/ posts/messages and the person’s crime is that he/she is naughty, broke your heart, disappointed you, or said something that really offended you.

You aren’t talking to your roommate, an old friend, a family member, your Ex, or that special friend because they offended you and you can’t forgive them.

Yes, I really understand you, they hurt you.

He/she is annoying, rude, and not worthy to be part of your life.

However, my questions are:
1. Do you expect someone to forgive you if you can’t forgive others?

2. Do you think you have never offended anyone before?

3. If you fail to forgive others, what chance do you stand in obtaining forgiveness from God? See Matthew 6:14-15.

The beauty of life is that it comes with disappointments and offenses from people you least expected.

Unfortunately, some of us spend so much time on disappointments and offenses and end up becoming victims of all circumstances.

Remember this one thing always. Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

The fact is that the world is full of annoying, naughty, and ungrateful people.

You will always come across them during the gentle stroll of your life span.

But the best thing to do is to deal with them with love and maturity.

You can’t get everyone to behave like you. Never!

Hatred and intolerance have caused many of the world’s problems and have solved none of them.

We must learn to tolerate and forgive one another.

We must bury the faults of others against us and move on with life.

As you read this piece, I beseech you to take the pain and forgive that special person you have grudges with and iron out your grievances.

Muster the courage and apologize to that person you have offended.

The clock is ticking. Man is aging. The grave is calling and we are not in charge.

Life is short. You don’t know how much time you have left… Live your life to please God.

You cannot do all these with your power and efforts.

Come to the Lord Jesus Christ in repentance today and trust Him.

He gives grace abundantly.

Prayer Point:-
Oh Lord God, help me to forgive and tolerate others henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Happy Weekend!

ALTAR CALL

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.

Thank God for your soul. I congratulate you for the best decision of your life. For further details on how to grow in this new light, please click the CONTACT page or visit TACN or any bible believing church near you and ask for the pastor in charge.
