Thursday 22nd September 2022 Devotion
Scripture Reading:- Matthew 5:36-48; Luke 6:27-38
Topic:- The Statement Of Jesus On Enemies [2]

E. Understanding These Enemies:
1. First, there are temporal enemies or changeable enemies.

These are the people used by the devil to do havoc but didn’t know they are being used by the devil.

They are innocent but doing contrary. They are to harm or cause you problems e.g. Saul who later changed to Apostle Paul. See Acts 9:1-20.

Jesus said forgive them for they know not what they do. See Luke 23:34.

2. Temporarily Enemies:
Jesus said out of your family are foes. See Matthew 10:36.

3. The Unrepentant Enemies:
These are the people that are wicked in their acts and have vowed never to repent from their evil ways.

Those have sold their lives to Satan. They are the ones Jesus made a proverbial statement over that they should be killed. See Luke 19:27.

4. There Are Devil Incarnate Enemies:
No amount of prayer for them can have an effect, it’s like wasting time and your prayers because they are not totally ordinary human beings.

You may be seeing them as human but they are demons sent to destroy or kill. See Genesis 6:2,4; Ephesians 6:12.

5. What About Devil [The Greatest Enemy]:
Do you want to pray for his repentance or salvation?

See some of his escapades in Genesis 3:1-5, 15; Matthew 4:1-11; Revelation 20:10.

F. Expected Attitude/Prayer Against Enemies:
1. Jesus said to pray for your enemies. Those are human beings known enemies. They are enemies that can change. See Luke 23:34.

An example was Stephen who pray for his own enemies. See Acts 7:60.

2. Enemies that are temporal. Household enemies. See Matthew 10:36.

Apostle Paul said you should feed or give them water. See Romans 12:20-21.

3. The ungodly enemies. See Exodus 23:22; Romans 12:20.

The Bible says will should resist them. See James 4:7b.

4. Demonic influence or Unfriendly friends or enemies. See Psalm 55:12-17.

Those who know not what they are doing. They are blindfolded. See Matthew 26:24; 18:6.

You are to pray violently against those enemies that want to waste your life. See Matthew 11:12.

5. Those who have sold their soul to the devil. See Revelation 20:15.

Those are devil-incarnate enemies. See Revelation 20:14

Only God can fight and avenge those enemies. Psalm 7:1-2, 6, 9, 11-16.

6. The enemies that if God can be pleased with you so that even those your known enemies will live in peace with you.  See Proverbs 16:7.

7. God commands that you should not rejoice or go against feeble enemies. See Proverbs 17:5; 24:18-22.

Prayer Points:-
1. I command all arrows of enemies fired against me, come out by the fire and go back to the sender, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. You, my star and glory that have been caged, escape and locate me with glory in the name of Jesus.
3. I refuse to die without achieving the purpose of God for my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Oh Lord God, I refuse to go to hell, in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. Oh Lord God, rain upon me, Your morning rain, in the name of Jesus Christ.
6. I refuse to die with my enemies, no, I won’t even die but to live and testify to God’s goodness henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.

ALTAR CALL

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.
