SCRIPTURE READING:- MATTHEW 22:1-14
TOPIC:- DARKNESS IS NOT YOUR PORTION
TEXT:- MATTHEW 22:13
Today’s passage is on the parable of the wedding feast/banquet. In that Matthew chapter twenty two, verse thirteen, on the statement, “cast him into outer darkness”, was to the man which had not on him a wedding garment. What really went wrong with the man that he failed to put on wedding garment was not stated in the parable. See Matthew 22:1, 11-13.
The real meaning of the parable is that, the Jew thought that they were assured of special favour by God. Furthermore, the unrepentant Jews would be “cast out” because of their hypocritical claim that they were the children and followers of Abraham. That is why I believe that outer darkness is not your portion, because, you have given your life to Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. See John 1:6-14, note verse 12.
Remember! This “outer darkness” referred to here, is the place of suffering for the unbelievers and is in contrast to the light where the believers dwell. See 1 John 1:5-7.
Unbelievers will be thrown into the furnace of fire, whereas believers will shine as the sun in the kingdom of the father. See Matthew 13:42-43.
Beloved! Have you given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, to be your Lord and your Savior? Are you born again into the family of God? Are you sure if Jesus should come today to take His own, you will surely go with Him? See Revelation 3:10. Note also Matthew 11:28-29.
Prayer points:-
1. I declare, outer darkness is not my portion, I reject it by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I command every action and attitude of mine that will lead and take me to hell, what are you still doing, die to the root now by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I command every work of darkness that is still operating in my family and my church, what are you waiting for, perish now by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
