SCRIPTURE READING:- JEREMIAH 30:1-24
TOPIC: YOUR DEVOURER MUST DIE
TEXT:- MALACHI 3:11
The word devourer means swallow or eat up hungrily. It also means voraciously or ravenously. It also means to consume destructively, recklessly or wantonly. It could also mean to absorb or engross wholly.
Devourer in other versions of the Bible apart from KJV is being called insects, plagues or diseases. It is also called locusts or bugs. While in the Message Version of the Bible of the book of Malachi 3:11, it is called the marauders.
Looking at all the meanings above from different versions, we can conclude that this devourer must not be spared in one’s life, work or finances.
Most interestingly, devourer is mostly attached to defaulters of tithes payment in which the penalty is not only devourer but many other punishments which will destroy their livelihood and finances. And also, all their blessings will be withheld because they fail to pay the 10% of their income or salaries to God. Therefore, they were called robbers and cursed by God Himself. See Malachi 3:6-18.
This devourer can operate in one’s life physically, financially, spiritually, and materially. One can invite devourer into one’s life by action e.g. drinking of alcohol, engaging in promiscuous acts, gambling, excessive spending, tithe evasion or avoidance, disallowing God to be head over all personal endeavors. Therefore, your own devourer must die!
Prayer Points:-
1. I command every satanic investment in my life, be shaken out by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. O Lord my God, restore unto me the years that canker-worm, caterpillar, palmer-worm and locust has eaten unto me, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Thou power of sweating without result in my life, what are you waiting for, catch fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
