Friday 14th October 2022 Devotion
Scripture:- Luke 10:25-37
Topic:- You Are Not The First, Last, Or Alone
Have you discovered that at any point that you are assaulted, at your wit’s end, and discouraged, you will as well find the whole Bible offensive?
You in particular find yourself doubting the Bible claim that you are loved by God!
You begin to ask, “Why me?”
But why not you? If not you, who else when you are the very center of God’s work in progress?
Are the exercise and temptations not the processes that you have to pass through for God to be exalted and glorified from the beginning to the very end, in and by your life?
The fact is you are not the first, last, or alone second-guessing God’s love.
To mention a few, Gideon and Joseph were in their time.
Joseph and no one else were disdained and hated by his brothers for his unconventional dreams.
But that has to be. The dream and destiny in issue were Joseph. So, no other person was imprisoned in his place!
Do you remember President Olusegun Obasanjo’s incarceration by General Sani Abacha?
Who would have thought that will be to launch him to Aso Rock?
Look at Barrack Obama, the first black USA immigrants President.
Remember the grass-to-grace story of Papa Enoch Adeboye.
What of the Islamic aboriginals; later Pastor JSS Jemilugbon and Bishop David Oyedepo?
Truth is God specialists making the ordinary become extraordinary.
Caught in the middle and darkness all around to prove that the whole Bible is unquestionably offensive from beginning to end. See Matthew 5:27-28.
That’s why we are judged by its standards, first judged as of love which if despised and we neglect such great salvation, results in judgment, condemnation, and eternal death.
The fact is unless our heart is sheared, we cannot read the Bible and not be offended—condemned even—unless we come as broken sinners.
If only we come as broken sinners, are we tenderly embraced and embracing.
Praise God.
Paul in realization repeatedly declares that no one is holy according to the law.
Far from thinking he is better than those whose sin he lists. He presents himself as worse: “a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent” of Jesus. See 1 Timothy 1:12-15.
It is the case by Paul that he is saved only to prove that the least deserving person can be redeemed.
Indeed, in this chapter, Paul refers to himself as the “foremost” of sinners twice. See 1 Timothy 1:15, 16!
You will be saved, delivered, repaired, and restored.
You will have all you have lost back in good measure, shaken and pressed down!
Maintain a no-shaking posture. Don’t join the congregations of the wicked; they are soon forgotten.
Keep hope and faith alive. Hold God at His Word. It surely shall come to pass.
Just come to Jesus Christ as a broken sinner now.
The same reason (of love), that He forgave you in the past, is the same reason this message is coming to you this day.
Prayer Point:-
Oh Lord my God, let me understand you better henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
