Why Was God Quite When The Serpent Was Deceiving Eve

Friday 11th September 2020 Devotion
Scripture:- Genesis 3:1-8
Topic:- Why Was God Quite When The Serpent Was Deceiving Eve
Text:- Genesis 3:4

This is a question many Christians often ask. Why was God quiet when the serpent was deceiving Eve? And why didn’t God intervene to stop the fall of Man?
Let us start from the beginning when God created Adam and Eve. God gave them dominion over everything on earth. God said let ‘them’ have dominion. He used them, meaning God didn’t include himself.
So it means only human being with flesh can do dealings on earth. A spirit have no authority to do any dealings on earth. Satan was so happy when God excluded himself from having anything to do with the earth. So what did Satan do?
Knowing fully well that he needed a body to be able to do anything on earth, Satan went to negotiate with the serpent to permit him to use its body for few minutes.
Satan then spoke to Eve through the serpent. God heard this conversations, but couldn’t do anything about it. God cannot join Satan in doing maneuver.
It is then right to say that the fall of Man was as a result of the righteousness of God. God cannot break his own word. He was the one who said a spirit have no business on earth. And he cannot descend so low as to using an animals body just like Satan.
However, God had a plan to redeem everything. After the whole drama in the garden of Eden, God told Satan that he will crush his head with the seed of this same woman.
God needed to come to earth in a legal way. He needs a body to do this. So that where Mary came into play. Mary gave God the body he needed to come on earth. This makes Mary very special. That why Jesus still went to heaven with His whole body so that He can come again.

Prayer Point:- Oh Lord God, help me to obey You alone wholeheartedly henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
