Topic:- Why Some Fail To Receive Holy Spirit
Text:- Luke 24:49
As much as it was promised to believe that it is a must to receive Holy Spirit for without Holy Spirit you cannot work for God. Romans 8:9; 14:16.
And John the Baptist even said, Jesus will baptize every believer with Holy Spirit and fire, Luke 3:16. While Jesus Himself said, you will receive power after Holy Ghost has come upon you, Acts 1:8.
Upon all these, many believers still found it difficult to receive Him, why? The reasons are not farfetched:
1. Believer waiting to receive Him have no preparation for Him at all. And for Holy Spirit to come upon you, you must prepare ready for Him. See Luke 24:49.
2. As many did not prepare and get ready for Him, so also many did not thirst for Him. There must be thirst for Holy Spirit if definitely you want to receive Him. See Revelation 22:17.
3. Many are still living in their sins and expect Holy Spirit to baptize them. It is only a clean vessel who had confessed his or her sins, and washed by the Blood of the Lamb that can fully ready to receive the visitation of Holy Spirit. Because as His name implies i.e. Holy, so the receiver too must be clean and holy. See Romans 6:1-2; James 3:2.
4. Holy Spirit must be received in faith. If you doubt Him definitely, Holy Spirit will not visit you because of doubt. See James 1:5-8.
5. Some did not even ask for Holy Spirit sincerely i.e. no thorough and genuine asking for Holy Spirit. See John 16:24.
6. While many will not receive Holy Spirit is because they are ignorant of Him, how to receive Him and for what they need Holy Spirit for. See James 4:3, 17.
7. Even, many are not expecting Him to visit them. But as many that wait patiently for Him, He will baptize them and also fill them just like the way He visited, and He came upon the entire family of Cornelius, and they were fully baptized with Holy Spirit just like the day of Pentecost. See Acts 2:1-4; 10:24-27.
Prayer Points:-
1. I change from my formal ways of life, Holy Spirit, change me totally to be in You, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Holy Spirit baptize me with Your presence and fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I am ready for Holy Spirit visitation in my life, visit me now with Your Fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
