Friday 24th April 2020 Devotion
Scripture:- Daniel 9:1:27
Topic:- What Is Rapture
Text:- Mark 13:32
A. Among the believers had been this mystery of rapture not yet known to many. That rapture is supposed to take place after 49 years of the death of Jesus but how and why has it not taken place yet? This is what we want to reveal to you.
After today’s revelation of this article, your faith will be strong, your questions will be answered, and your joy will be full. And you will be assured in your heart that you will not miss the rapture.
B. This is the sudden disappearance of those who believe in Jesus, not because of their works but because they carry the Spirit of Jesus in their heart at the coming of Jesus for it is written. See Romans 8:9.
Rapture is the coming of Jesus to evacuate or take His own people, those who are born again, carrying His Spirit in their hearts out of this world to heaven. See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 5:9-11.
C. When Will This Event Happen On Earth Or Has It Happened Already:
And the answer is NO, it has not yet happened. Daniel the Prophet gave a wonderful prophetic date that Jesus Christ himself confirmed.
D. Daniel said that Jesus the Messiah shall come back after 49 years of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Then you can understand easily the calculation of the old testament calendar and dates of his time.
In Daniel 9:25; 7 plus 62 weeks equal to 69 weeks. He said the Messiah the Prince shall come out of the 70 weeks or 490 years ordained by God for His coming in judgment.
E. But before the 69 weeks or 483 years, He would die at 62 weeks or 434 years. This means it remains 7 weeks. 62 weeks subtracted from 69 weeks is equal to 7 weeks, of the date God appointed Him to come back in rapture. Now in the days of Daniel, one week is 7 years, therefore 7weeks is equal to 7 X 7 to give you 49 years.
This means that the prophetic date of rapture was known by the people of old to be at 49 years after the death of Jesus.
F. No Wonder Jesus Said To His Disciples As Confirmed:
“Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death till they see the son of man coming in his kingdom.” See Matthew 16:28; Mark 9:1.
That is why after His death many of the Apostles were expecting His coming in rapture till after 49 years of His death. At 50 years Nero Caesar of Rome struck them with worldwide persecution.
G. Was Daniel wrong? NO. Was Jesus wrong? NO, why didn’t the date agree? This is because God is sovereign and does whatsoever He wills. The sovereign or actual date of the rapture is in His sovereign power to determine.
H. Nobody knows it, not even Jesus, man, angels except God himself that knows it. This Jesus also corrected in His teaching to the Disciples in Mark 13:32.
I. And so you have prophetic date made known to angels and to man, but the actual date belongs to God. Take, for example, the exodus of the Israelites of old. An Angel told Abraham your children shall be strangers in Egypt for 400 years.
This is the prophetic date. They left Egypt at 430 years enjoyed 30 years of grace. This is the actual or sovereign date of God. See Genesis 15:13.
J. In the same way, Daniel said that the rapture of the Christians shall be 49 years after the date of Jesus. This is the prophetic years known by Jesus, Angels, and men. But the actual and sovereign date is not known by anybody except God the Father.
K. This year 2020 minus 49 year equals to 1971 years gone, Jesus has not yet come in rapture. We, therefore, have enjoyed 1971 years of grace to His coming. That is why it is a true statement that “Jesus can come any moment from now.”
L. Why? Because the date known to man for his coming expired by 1971 grace years. If he comes now, nobody can accuse God that He did not give Him enough time to repent.
M. If You Are Not a Born Again, I encourage you to repent, believe in Jesus. Be sure you receive His Spirit in your heart. So shall you be qualified for the rapture?
Prayer Point:- I refuse to go to hell but to make the rapture with Christ in His second coming by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Happy Weekend!
