Wednesday 19th December 2018 Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- Daniel 10:1-14
Topic:- What Is Expected Of You After Fasting
Text:- Daniel 5:27
There are seven reasons why there is no much or no testimony at all after a program of fasting terminated:
1. If you are still living in your sin i.e. you are back to your formal way of life, then go your way, you have just undergone a hunger strike. See Romans 6:1-2.
2. If you have no praise or appreciation to God who has sustained you for the program, you will definitely not receive anything from Him. See Luke 19:40
3. After much talk and messages, you are still doubtful and afraid, then the devil will influence your testimony. See Daniel 3:16-21.
4. You should also be observant that demonic agents do not influence your testimony. See Daniel 10:1-14.
5. If you are the type that is worrisome and weak, then the devil can capitalize on that. See Ephesians 3:14-21.
6. If you are not a detector of God’s voice or even not knowing God still, then the testimony will skip you by. See 1 Samuel 3:1-10
7. And lastly, if you are not heavenly minded, what will be the usefulness of your many testimonies and losing heavenly kingdom. See Colossians 3:1-2.
But I assure you if you can take note of the following advice, then you will begin to count your blessings:
1. First, start rejoicing that your prayer is not in vain. It is answered. See Psalm 30:5.
2. Train yourself to listen to God and obey Him always. See Luke 4:1.
3. Be ready for challenges of the fasting and prayer you have undergone. Satan will not just fold hands and be looking at you, he may strike to discourage you or to abuse God or even leave God. Don’t try it, it is the trick of the devil. See 1 Peter 5:8.
4. Never you rely on those fasting you’ve done, though you have been strengthened therein, Phillippians 3:13, but be ready to go on another one because victory is for those who do not quit, Phillippians 3:12-14.
Now, that the battle is over, I declare unto you, you are more than conqueror.
