Friday 21st August 2020 Devotion
Scripture:- Matthew 4:1-11
Topic:- The Traps Of Satan To Make Christians Fall [2]
Text:- Matthew 4:2
- Discontentment: Discontentment is one of the simplest way for the devil to capture and place you under his control or command.
The devil gave Jesus all what is in the world but Jesus fell not because He was content. Then said Jesus unto him, “Get you hence, Satan: for it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.” See Matthew 4:8-10.
If it was you, what will you do? Tell yourself the truth. The answer you have for yourself, will determine whether you are contented or not.
If you are not contented, you want to own the whole world and all what is in the world, if this is true about you, you are on your way to fall in the devil trap. Repent now. - Doubt: This all started in the garden of Eden when he first approached the woman (Eve), he asked her, “Did God really say that you must not eat from any tree in the garden?” His question was meant to place doubt in her. Are you sure that is what God said?
If the devil wants to cause you to doubt, he normally pop up questions in your mind that will pop up doubt. You see, the devil is very tricky!
The devil does everything he can to cause us to doubt God’s truth because doubt is the genesis of most problems. The devil will do all he can to attack, distort and twist the truth of God’s word.
This is the reason why most of your prayers are not answered. He causes you to doubt because doubt will cause your prayers not answered. Even when the devil says the truth, even when he quotes Scripture, he puts it in a way that favour him.
For example, “if God don’t want you to have sex with him/her, why did He allow him/her to come to your room”. My dear, that the devil talking.
Prayer Point:- Oh Lord God, I refuse to dance to the devil’s tune, help me to obey You henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Happy Weekend!
