Topic:- The Greatness And The Fall Of John The Baptist [1]
Text:- Luke 1:13
A. The Life of John’s Parents:
1. They were perfect in their Christian life. See Luke 1:5-6.
2. They served God all their lives even till old age without stumbling. See Luke 1:6-7.
3. They served God in sincerity and without compromise despite their problem. See Luke 1:5-23.
4. Only the father doubted and was disciplined for it. See Luke 1:18-22, 62-63.

B. A Family with different Anointing of God’s Spirit:
1. The Father, Zacharias was born again and with the evidence of Holy Spirit. See Luke 1:6-7.
2. The Mother, Elizabeth too was born again with the evidence of Holy Spirit. See Luke 1:41.
3. John too has been born again with the evidence of Holy Spirit right from the womb. See Luke 1:15.

C. The Birth of John the Baptist turned three bad situations to Miracles:
1. The “BUT” in the life of his Parents’ childlessness was healed. See Luke 1:7.
2. The faithlessness of his father turned to faith and believing. See Luke 1:18.
3. The dumb father received miracle of healing. See Luke 1:19-22, 64.

D. Why Jesus called him the Greater than other Prophets:
1. He was the first man to start Baptizing people in water, his name applied. See Luke 3:2-16.
2. He was the one that baptized the Savior of the World, the Baptizer with Holy Ghost. See Mark 1:7-11.
3. He was the fore-runner of Christ. See Matthew 3:10-11.
4. He lived an ascetic/fasted/disciplined life. See Matthew 3:4; Mark 1:6.
5. A man who will speak the whole truth without compromising and fear. See Luke 3:7-20.
6. He was the end of the Old Testament Prophets and Law Teacher. See Matthew 11:13.
7. He also lived a celibate life. See Matthew 19:10-12; Revelation 14:4.

Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, as You help me to start well, help me till the end of my life to end it best, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I command every stumbling block on my way to success and glory, catch fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Oh Lord God, I refuse to be tired on my way to success and heaven, energized me henceforth by Your fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.

2. I command every stumbling block on my way to success and glory, catch fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
