Tuesday 11th August 2020 Devotion
Scripture:- Ezekiel 31:1-9
Topic:- The Devil And His Angels Were The 1st To Dwell On Earth [2]
Text:- Exodus 28:17-20
Let us try to develop a timeline. God created the world in seven days, including the heavens and the earth. He created man on the sixth day so when did He create Angels. Well, the answer to this goes in two ways:
- That God had already created the heavens before the record in the book of Genesis. Please note that in history, when they refer to the heavens, what they are simply talking about is the clouds and not the location where God dwells.
- That God created Angels within the period of seven days as He did Adam. In whichever way, we agree that God created angels before He created humanity.
I mean it only makes sense. Now, the next question whose answer proves my theory that the devil dwelled on earth before Adam and will determine the timeline for the war in heaven is; when was the devil cast out of heaven?
Was the devil sent out of heaven before man was created? Or was he cast out of heaven during the period when man had already been created?
I. Let’s say the devil was sent out of the heavens before mankind was created, it will mean that the devil had already been able to dwell in areas where God had created before he created mankind. So it fits into the theory that the devil dwelled on earth before humanity.
The book of Adam and Eve details the first few temptations of Adam and Eve after they were sent out of the garden of Eden and what I realized from reading this was the fact that the devil and his angels had already been on earth, waiting for Adam and Eve to come into their hands.
However, this particular view meets a bit of a drag if we imagine that the earth hadn’t been created long before mankind was created. But since we cannot determine the exact time the earth was created and how long it took for God to create man after he created earth then it fits. - The theory that Man had already been created when the devil and his angels were sent out of heaven. Since we cannot actually determine the number of years Adam used in the garden of Eden, then we cannot say if numerous events had unfolded within the period that he dwelled in the garden.
Since he was immortal when he was in the garden of Eden, he would not age nor would he die. So it makes sense to believe that the devil was cast out of heaven after Adam and been created.
If I am to tap into some other belief systems, some of which says the devil reached his tipping point and rebelled when he was asked to bow to Adam, then I will be saying that the rebellion in heaven happened both because of the devil’s pride which led to him not bowing to the new creature Adam and his need to seize control.
The devil was cast out of heaven and he and his angels came down to the nearest location they could find, earth. The devil then journeyed into the garden, tempted Adam and Eve.
Adam and Eve fell into the earth where they were welcomed into the hands of spirits and beings who had no good intentions for them, spirits that have been roaming on earth since they were sent out of the heavens.
Unlike Adam and Eve, the devil has no physical presence or body. He and his angels were only spirit beings right from time. So they had no hold on the physical world which is earth. They simply roamed on the face of the earth.
If we cannot call the garden of Eden a location on earth, then it means Adam and Eve weren’t exactly placed on earth and are therefore not the first dwellers on earth.
Since the devil and his angels were sent out of the earth, they would have gone somewhere, according to the events that unfolded after the Garden of Eden, it makes sense to believe that they fell down to earth.
Prayer Point:- I command every activity of the devil over me and my family henceforth, terminate now by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Wonderful Tuesday!
