Wednesday 12th September 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- Acts 12:1-19
Topic:- Stop Praying Religiously
Text:- Luke 11:1
Prayer is good because it is our means of communicating with God, but religious or ceremonial prayer is usually unanswered by God. The characteristics of religious prayer are:
1. Praying maliciously, when you are keeping animosity with others e.g. your spouse, colleague, fellow Christian, school mate, etc. See Matthew 5:23-24; 18:15.
2. Praying with an unforgiving spirit. See Matthew 12:14-15; Mark 11:24-25.
3. Praying with a sinful heart. That is without confessing or forsaking one’s sins. See Psalm 66:18; 1 John 1:9-10.
4. Praying without faith (i.e. in doubt) or praying with doubtful mind. See James 1:5-8.
5. Praying with divided mind among prayer group. Unity of the prayer group is essential, they must agree together if they want their prayer to be answered. See Matthew 18:19-20.
Prayer Points:-
1. I command all sins that is standing in the way of my prayers, disappear by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I declare, I will pray through henceforth, and it’s results will manifest, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I command heavenly authority for answer prayers, and new anointing for breakthrough prayers, fall upon me by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Beautiful Mid-Week!
