Stop Praying Religious Prayer

Thursday 1st November 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion

Scripture Reading:- Acts 12:1-19

Topic:- Stop Praying Religious Prayer

Text:- Mark 11:24

The story and drama that happened in Acts 12 will make us to understand better what is called religious prayer. Going through the passage will give us an eye opening, that many believe that they are praying even praying violently, Matthew 11:12, and not knowing that their prayers are being hindered, thereby not receiving answers to their prayers.

What is then the Religious Prayer?
1. Religious prayer are prayers prayed without reconciliation with one another, either husband to wife, parents to children among family members, among Church members, even friends. Matthew 5:23-24; 18:15.
2. It is a prayer prayed without forgiving one another i.e. keeping malice with one another or neighbors and continuing in serious prayers. See Mark 11:24-25; Matthew 6:12, 14-15.
3. Third, it is prayer prayed without confession of sin i.e. A sin you remembered when praying and not confessing such sin to God or self, as case may be. See Psalm 66:18; James 5:16; I John 1:9-10.
4. Is a prayer prayed in doubt i.e. You never believe it will be done or you doubted when praying. See James 1:5-8.
5. It can also mean prayer prayed without agreement or disunity. See Matthew 18:19-20.
6. It is a prayer you prayed but not ready for the answer or the manifestation of the prayer. This was what stopped those women praying in the passage, though the answer came, yet they condemned Rhoda. See Acts 12:13-14.
7. It is a prayer prayed and never believed it can be i.e. praying for praying sake when you never believe it can happen instantly like the case in the passage. See Acts 12:15-16.
On and on like that, but the important thing is that God answers prayers. See Isaiah 65:22-24. Indeed you prayer will be answered!

Prayer Points:-
1. I command you spirit of doubt and unbelief standing in the way of my prayer life, vanish now, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I declare, I will pray though henceforth, and miracles and results will follow, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I refuse to be praying religious prayer henceforth, oh Lord God, answer my by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Oh Lord God, rain upon me, Your morning rain, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Have A Glorious Thursday!

ALTAR CALL

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.

Thank God for your soul. I congratulate you for the best decision of your life. For further details on how to grow in this new light, please click the CONTACT page or visit TACN or any bible believing church near you and ask for the pastor in charge.
