Monday 31st August 2020 Devotion
Scripture:- Matthew 12:35-50
Topic:- Signs To Know That You Need Deliverance
Text:- 1 John 4:4
Deliverance is being set free from spiritual bondage and barriers that hold us back from walking in the victory that Jesus won on the cross for us at Calvary.
Put more bluntly, it is the driving out of evil spirits by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an essential process, probably all Christians need, to ensure they can be totally set free.
It is wrong to assume, that once you give your life to Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Spirit, that you are automatically delivered from those demonic strongholds that hold you down.
One of the many benefits of being a Christian is that only Christians filled with the Holy Spirit can be delivered! If you are not a Holy Spirit-filled Christian and a deliverence is performed, then you do not have the protection and guidance from the Holy Spirit to stop any demonic influence from returning and interferring in your life which could make things worse.
“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” See Matthew 12:43-45.
Despite what many people think, deliverance is not about the demons. It is about being set free in Jesus’ name. When deliverance is ministered prop SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS INDICATING NEED FOR DELIVERANCE.
Just like a Medical Doctor will prescribe treatment based on your complaints and his observation, the following signs and symptoms are to help you locate the spirit behind the problem.
The symptoms below are not exhaustive and it is possible you have multiple spiritual challenges and battles to deal with. Do not fret and do not attempt to deal with all at the same time. Take the most serious and pressing spiritual problems and pray them out.
In most cases, your spiritual battles are inter-connected and interlinked and if you deal with their ‘leader’ (the most serious troubles), automatically the ‘followers’ (the apparently not-serious problems) will have no choice than to go. Remember the Scripture ‘Smite the Shepherd and the sheep will scatter’?
Satan will attack you more if you are in a leadership position than if you are just a follower. It is the same principle you need in spiritual warfare.
He is more afraid of you if you are a true abiding Christian. All you need to do is open your mouth and do exactly as we instruct you and you will be totally free in Jesus Name. See 1 John 4:4.
Prayer Point:- Because greater One is in me, I overcome all the antics of the devil henceforth by fire and, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Lovely Month-End!
