Thursday 7th March 2019 Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 2 Samuel 6:1-23
Topic:- Restoration Of Glory Through Praise
Text:- Psalm 100:4
1. The Ark of God denoted the presence of God among His people in Old Testament. It was also the power of God to deliver His people Israelites from their battles and enemies. It was also the glory of God manifesting among His people. See Exodus 25:10-22; 37:1-9.
2. One of Eli’s daughter-in-law who was pregnant also delivered prematurely on hearing of this sad news, [captured of the Ark, death of her husband and sudden death of her father-in-law]. And she named the baby Icabod, [meaning, the glory of God has departed/taken away]. All these evil events took place because the Ark was snatched away from Israel. See 1 Samuel 4:15-22
3. The Ark stayed in the land of Philistine for 7 months. See 1 Samuel 6:1.
4. The Ark was later transferred and stayed in the house of Abinadab for about 20 years. See 1 Samuel 7:1-2.
5. David knew that God’s food is praises, worship and thanksgiving. See I Samuel 16:15-23.
a. See 2 Samuel 6:20-23; Psalm 100:4a,b. [How David used to praise God].
b. For your own glory to be restored, you must do serious praise, worship and thanks in the spirit to God.
