THURSDAY 29TH MARCH, 2018 MORNING PRAYER DEVOTION
SCRIPTURE READING:- GENESIS 4:1-24
TOPIC:– PLEASE, DON’T BE A CAIN!
TEXT:- 1 JOHN 3:12
The Hebrew meaning of Cain is possession. From it meaning, Cain can be referred to as someone who will not mind the consequence of possessing anything by all means, either rightly or wrongly, in a violent way or even with the aim of terminating other people’s lives.
We could see this in the manner and the way Cain made sacrifice which was not acceptable to God, and went ahead to kill his own blood brother Abel for it.
Attitude like that of Cain must not be allowed to rule your life i.e. the attitude of evil jealousy and the mind of killing which will first of all start through anger.
Remember, this Cain was referred to in the Bible as wicked person, someone that his work is evil and also a killer. See 1 John 3:12.
Therefore, Cain must not live in you. His personality and attitude must die in you, so that he will not terminate your God’s given destiny and plan i.e. that you will not achieve what God has for you to exhibit in life.
Please, don’t wait till this Cain strikes. You have to strike first, and this can be done through your holy living and your prayerful life. Note that the kingdom of God suffereth violence and only the violent will take it by force. See Matthew 11:12.
Prayer Points:-
1. I silence every spirit of Cain and household enemy in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Oh Lord God, give me grace to present myself unto You as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Oh Lord, give me grace to worship and release the best of my substance unto You, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Fulfilling Thursday!
