Thursday 8th November 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 1 Kings 17:1-24
Topic:- Obedience That Opens Heaven
Text:- Isaiah 1:19
As there is partial obedience, [which I know in God’s standard, it is not obedience at all]. See King Saul as a case study in I Samuel 15:1-28.
There was total obedience in which God delights. The obedience of Elijah made him to pray ceaselessly for rain to cease. Thereby, his obedience closed heaven to rain for complete 3½ years, because the Isrealites and King Ahab had disobeyed God. If you keep on disobeying God, note for sure, the heaven will close against you. See I King 17:1-3.
As Elijah kept obeying the Lord, God made his own heaven to open to the point that ravens, [bird that is very stingy among birds that can’t take care of their little ones], fed him till the brook of Cherith dried up. While others were enduring hardship and famine, Elijah was enjoying the blessings of God and open heaven. See I Kings 17:4-7.
Elijah continued to enjoy open heaven just because he obeyed God. Unbelieveable! It was a widow of Zarephath, [that she too obeyed God, and her own heaven opened] that she came to, to the rescue of Elijah for his own heaven to continually open. See Kings 17:8-16.
Thank God for Elijah’s obedience that also led to the said widow’s heaven never to close, because of her dead son that was later raised up miraculously just because of her obedience that opened her heavens. See I Kings 17:17-24.
Your heaven might have been closed, wait on God and obey Him, He will make your heaven to be opened continually.
Prayer Points:-
1. Henceforth I declare I will change in obeying the Lord absolutely, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I command all my closed heaven to be open henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Heaven! Open for me henceforth by fire with all the fruitfulness of God,
4. Oh Lord God, rain upon me, Your morning rain, in the name of Jesus Christ.
