Thursday 25th October 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 2 Kings 4:8-37
Topic:- No Pain No Gain
Text:- 2 Kings 4:28
God won’t move until you move and act. It is sure that you must first get trouble before God will act. If there is no problem, then; there is no salvation. If no obstacle on your way, then, no breakthrough. If there is no mountain to climb for you on your way, then, no testimony. If there is no battle to fifth, then no victory to win. In all these, there must be no gain or no pain.
Why all these? It was because God had learnt His lesson, because before time, God will see the problem coming the way of His people in the Old Testament and will settle it in His own way and at His own will. And in all those places, God was blamed for doing so.
See the case of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God saw that Adam needed a wife and provided Eve without Adam asking for a wife. Alas at the later end, Adam blamed God that he didn’t ask for a wife after the fall. See Genesis 2:18-23; 3:9-12.
Also, the Shunemite woman blamed Elisha for the son given by God and later died but miraculously raised up. See II Kings 4:18-37.
Since that time, no pain, no gain. That is, you must first fall into problem before solution will come your way, if you will pray very well. See examples in II Kings 6:1-7; Luke 18:35-43.
You must pray your way to breakthrough before help can come your way. At least the Lord Himself said it in Matthew 7:1 that you call before He answers. The good news is that as you call on Him, he answers. No pain, no gain but there is gain after your pain through Jesus.
Prayer Points:-
1. I command Satan and his hosts to get behind me for I know you not, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Enough is enough Satan; stop your work in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I shed away the pain in my life and take up the gain which is rightfully mine, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Oh Lord God, rain upon me, Your morning rain, in the name of Jesus Christ.
