FRIDAY 4TH MAY, 2018 MORNING PRAYER DEVOTION
SCRIPTURE READING:- MARK 5:25-34
TOPIC:- NO MORE SORROW FOR YOU
TEXT:- MATTHEW 24:8
The Greek word for sorrow is “Odin” which means pains of labour or to be in pain as compared to the pain which a woman experienced in children birth. It also means to be distressed or referred to as woe, and can also mean the cord or snares of death.
All the above meanings of sorrow will inflict on its victim. Someone can be afflicted with sorrow to the extent of committing suicide.
Although, Jesus was called a man of sorrow, in Isaiah 53:3, and even Himself declared it in Matthew 26:37-50. But this was because of the expected suffering to die for mankind. A man of no sin but yet suffered and died for us. Thank God for this type of sorrow because without that, no one would have been saved. See 2 Corinthians 7:10.
A woman suffered in pain and sorrow without solution, but the condition grew worst the more and all her livelihood and properties lost into sorrow, but until she met the Savour, Lord Jesus Christ who turn it around. See Mark 5:25-34.
Try to have an impact on people who cross your path every day, you never know the sorrow they are passing through until you do something loving. You don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
Please, don’t allow sorrow to make your life sorrowful, it must not be seen in your life again but joy.
