Tuesday 28th May 2019 Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 1 Kings 17:1-7
Topic:- Man Of Brokenness
Text:- 1 Corinthians 11:23-24
The best statement to explain brokenness is that of John the Baptize in the book of John 3:30 which says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” That is, self’ must be totally crucified in us and our life must be like that of Christ.
Brokenness is the response of humility to the conviction of God. It is continuous because it has to reflect in our day-to-day decisions.
It is painful, it is humiliating, it is costly but brokenness is the only way to make God live in and work through us as a Man of God, Man of Fire.
It involves the yielding of rights and selfish interests. It may as well bring about confessions and restitution of misappropriated thoughts and behavior to be Man of God Man of Fire.
The memory of the body of Jesus that was broken for us at Calvary is the only compelling force that can drive us to brokenness. This is much more so because the process also involves shame.
“That the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread. And when he had given thanks, he brake it and said, take eat, this is my body, which is broken for you, this do in remembrance of me.” See 1 Corinthians 11:23-24.
So, for you to walk on the highway of brokenness and be a Man of God, Man of Fire like Elijah, a believer is to make himself like Christ. The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch because their character was like that of Christ. See Acts 11:26.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, help me to be broken completely henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I cast out every spirit of pride in me in by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Oh Lord God, forgive me for the sins of trying to take Your glory in the past, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Oh Lord God, from today, I refuse to take Your place for Your glory for myself, never again, in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. Oh Lord God, break me and remold me to Your total form, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Lovely Tuesday!
