Scripture Reading:- John 14:1-14
Topic:- Jesus Is The Way, The Truth And The Life
Text:- John 14:6
A. Jesus Gave Abundant Life:
1. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life.” See John 10:10b.
2. Life here in Greek is Zoe, i.e. God’s kind of life. See Genesis 1:26-31; 2:7.
3. “And that they might have it more abundantly.” Life abundantly here in Greek is Perissos, beyond measure, exceedingly. See John 10:10b.
4. Jesus willingly gave is Life for us. See John 10:11,17-18.
5. The love expression of God was shown through Jesus. See Ephesians 3:19.
6. The Love through Jesus now led to our peace. See Philippians 4:6-7.
7. The peace now brought joy unspeakable. See John 15:11.
B. Jesus Is Also The Way And The Truth:
1. Only through Him is it possible to approach God in prayer. Moreover, Jesus is the way for us to be reconciled to God. Hence, only through Jesus can we have an approved relationship with God. See John 16:23; Romans 5:8.
2. Jesus is “the truth.” He spoke and lived in harmony with truth; it was as if truth arrived in the person of Jesus. He fulfilled scores of prophecies, which became “‘yes’ by means of Him.” Such prophecies help us to see his central role in the outworking of God’s purpose. see 2 Corinthians 1:20; John 1:14; Revelation 19:10.
C. Jesus Christ Is The Life:
1. By means of the ransom, His giving up His perfect life and blood, He made it possible for us to gain “the real life,” that is, “everlasting life.” See 1 Timothy 6:12,19; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:7.
2. He will also prove to be “the life” for millions who have died but who will be raised to life with the prospect of living in Paradise forever. See John 5:28-29.
All of us need to appreciate Jesus’ role in God’s purpose. Jesus, the way and the truth and the life.
Prayer Point:- Lord Jesus Christ, I accept You into my life anew henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
