Israel Came Back To God As Baal Priests Were Slain

Friday 17th May 2019 Prayer Devotion

Scripture Reading:- 1 Kings 18:1-40

Topic:- Israel Came Back To God As Baal Priests Were Slain

Text:- 1 Kings 18:39

When Ahab confronts Elijah, he refers to him as the “Troubler of Israel.” Elijah responds by throwing the charge back at Ahab, saying that it is Ahab who has troubled Israel by allowing the worship of false gods.
Elijah then berates both the people of Israel and Ahab for their acquiescence in Baal worship. Elijah speaks with sharp irony about the religious ambivalence of Israel. Elijah proposes a direct test of the powers of Baal and the Jewish God.
The people of Israel, 450 prophets of Baal, and 400 prophets of Asherah are summoned to Mount Carmel. An altar is built for Baal. Elijah then invites the priests of Baal to pray for fire to light the sacrifice.
They pray from morning to noon without success. Elijah ridicules their efforts. They continue praying until evening without success.
Elijah later prayed and asks God to accept the sacrifice. Fire falls from the sky, consuming the sacrifice, the stones of the altar itself, the earth and the water in the trench as well. Elijah then orders the deaths of the priests of Baal.

Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, enough is enough for the ungodly to triumph over me, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I’m lifted far above my enemies henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I command every roaring voice of evil over my success, what are you waiting for, catch fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. I command every Baal spirit that is oppressing me, catch fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. My Father! My Father! My Father! Turn me to Your fire henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.

Thank God for your soul. I congratulate you for the best decision of your life. For further details on how to grow in this new light, please click the CONTACT page or visit TACN or any bible believing church near you and ask for the pastor in charge.
