Thursday 4th October 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- Colossians 3
Topic:- In Any Condition Always Be Thankful
Text:- 1 Thessalonians 5:18
A rich man looked through his window and saw a poor man picking something from his dustbin. He said, “I thank God, I’m not poor.”
The poor man looked around and saw a naked man misbehaving on the street. He said, “I thank God I’m not mad.”
The mad man looked ahead and saw an ambulance carrying a patient. He too said, “I thank God, am not sick.”
Then a sick person in hospital saw a trolley taking a dead body to the mortuary. He too said, “I thank GOD, I’m not dead.”
Only a dead person cannot thank God.
Why don’t you thank God today for all your blessings and for the gift of life, for another beautiful day.
What is Life? To understand life better, you have to go to 3 locations:
1. Hospital. At the Hospital, you will understand that nothing is more beautiful than Hhealth.
2. Prison. In the Prison, you’ll see that Freedom is the most precious thing.
3. Cemetery. At the Cemetery, you will realize that life is worth nothing.
The ground that we are walking on today will be our roof tomorrow.
Sad truth. “We all come with ‘Nothing’ and we will go with ‘Nothing'” Let us, therefore, remain humble, be thankful and grateful to God at all times for everything.
Another story:
My mother used to cook beans, but before she cooked the beans, she picked the bad and dirty beans and threw them at our backyard and only cooked the good beans.
But when the rain came, the dirty and bad beans became seed and grew up and looked beautiful. Interestingly, my Mother who threw them away started harvesting them. And she starts to see that the beans she threw away some time ago had value.
Now note:
1. Don’t cry when people throw you at the backyard.
2. Don’t cry when they reject you.
3. Don’t cry while they are looking down at you.
4. Some may see you as burden.
5. Some may say you are too dull.
6. Some may say it was because of your past mistakes.
Don’t worry:
1. The rain is coming and the same people who are rejecting you will invite you.
2. God loves even those that are left out and looked down upon.
3. God will bless you, just stay connected to him and everyone will see how valuable you are.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, I thank You for my life and everything You have done for me and my family, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Oh Lord Jesus Christ, I appreciate and thank You for my salvation.
3. I know that whatever I’m passing through, and conditions I found my, is for a purpose, and I won’t give up, in the name of Jesus Christ.
