FRIDAY 6TH APRIL, 2018 MORNING PRAYER DEVOTION
SCRIPTURE READING:- GENESIS 16
TOPIC:- HAGAR WAS AN EXCESS LOAD
TEXT:- GALATIANS 4:24
The meaning of Hagar is flight, sojourner, to be a stranger, the drag away one, forsaken, retire, abide, be gathered, or uncertain.
Hagar was an excess load that must not accompanied you wherever you are going, if not for anything but because of religious trouble that the Christians are facing all over the world today, evolved through this Hagar, and will even continue till Jesus comes back again the 2nd time. That is certain, all just because of the mistake made by Abraham.
You will recall that it was Sarah, the wife of Abraham who advised her husband to go in and sleep with Hagar, a maid they brought from Egypt, after sojourning there during the flight from famine.
The funniest and worst thing that happened was that, the only 1st time Abraham went in unto her, it resulted into pregnancy, and the baby was named Ishmael.
He grew up and later became the father of the Arabians, who became a threat and problem to the Israelites till tomorrow.
Peradventure, if this sinful act of Abraham and Sarah could have been avoided, the problem facing Christianity today would have been avoided. The fighting, the war, and the killing problem facing Christianity today through the Muslims would have not occurred at all. See Genesis 16.
Prayer Points:–
1. I command all the anti-christ working against the gospel, be paralyzed, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I silence the spirit in me, that is not in conformity with the will of God, catch fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I receive the power, spirit and grace to witness Jesus Christ to the world, in the name of Jesus Christ.
