God the Consuming Fire Versus Herod

Day 31:Friday 29th May, 2020.

Scripture: Matthew 2

Topic: God the Consuming Fire Versus Herod

Text: Acts 12:1-2

Herod was a terminator of immature glory. He slew the children that were in Bethlehem and in all coasts thereof, from two years old and under after the birth of Jesus Christ, when the three wise men failed to give him feedback. See Matthew 2:16.
The meaning of Herod is monster or the monster in character. With the meaning of this name, anywhere or in any passage that this Herod was mentioned in the Bible, you will definitely see the act of monster manifesting in his life. This Herod attitude of a monster was evident when he heard Jesus was born. He lied and secretly deceived the wise men who came to announce the birth of Jesus. But for God’s intervention who warned the wise men. May be Jesus would have been killed prematurely. See Matthew 2:1-12.

You will notice that this troubler called Herod needs to be silenced looking at the account of how he killed John the Baptist, by beheading him because he was told the truth of marrying whom he supposed not to have married. John was imprisoned for this and later beheaded. Herod terminated untimely a very godly man of god. that is a monster for you. See Matthew14:1-12; Mark 6:16-20.

Herod was definitely a killer. According to the scripture, when he saw Jesus face to face, he mocked Him. He sent Him to be killed, showing that his character cannot change. See Luke 13:31; 23:6-12.

The book of Acts 12:1-23 gave us a clue of this monster called Herod which portrayed him as an executioner.
Just like the four leprous men who preferred to die in the midst of the Syrians’ army and saved the Samarian. In which after, they became savior of the Samarian, and also brought the good news of the fulfilled prophecy. See 2 Kings 7:3-20.

In our lives too, there are moments of choice when we are confronted on all sides with negative thoughts and possibilities. Some thoughts are so powerful that they overcome us and overwhelm us.

Never allow your own Herod to live, for if he does, he will destroy and killed you. You must rise up and challenge every Herod operating in your life through fervent prayers.

Prayer Points:

  • I command you will neither wither nor fall away prematurely, but you will fulfill your years on earth with your glory shinning better, in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • I command every power that wants to destroy my glory and success, be paralyzed, in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • I command you Herod of my life, destroy yourself, in the name of Jesus Christ.

  • Anyone born out of woman or by cesarean operation that has vowed that over his dead body will I make it, fulfill your evil vow now by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.

Thank God for your soul. I congratulate you for the best decision of your life. For further details on how to grow in this new light, please click the CONTACT page or visit TACN or any bible believing church near you and ask for the pastor in charge.
