God The Consuming Fire Versus Anger

Day 9: Thursday 7th May, 2020.

Scripture:- Matthew 5:21-26

Topic:- God The Consuming Fire Versus Anger

Text:- Ephesians 4:26

The Greek language calls anger “Orge” which means desire as a reaching forth or excitement of the mind. It is also a violent passion, and a justifiable abhorrence punishment.
Anger is an emotional feeling that comes upon us when others, things and situations don’t fit into our expectations of them. It expresses itself openly in rage, shouting, throwing of things, fighting, assault, murder, destruction of properties etc, or silently in frustration, resentment, bitterness, hatred, hostility, depression, etc.
Anger has a very strong potential to hurt, destroy, inflict psychological wound on the heart, cause war, break relationship, cause war, break relationship cause damage to the body of the one who is angry as well as its object at the same time.
One fact remains true in all people, and that is, the feeling of anger is intrinsically part of us. Just as we are made with all other emotions like joy, fear, pain, so are we made with anger.
However, we must note that how we express this feeling, like others, and what it leads us to do is totally our responsibility. Anger as an emotional feeling is neither good nor bad. What makes it good or bad is our response to it and what it leads us to do.
Funny enough, this anger is the only permissible vice in the entire Bible, but with a caution or condition that it does not lead to sin, i.e. not to sin even at all if you are angry, and that is by not giving chance or place for the devil to take control of your anger.

Also by not letting the sun go down upon your wrath which is also called anger. You don’t sleep with your anger without settlement. See Ephesians 4:26-27.
As human beings, it is impossible for one not to be angry over one thing or the other but one has to be cautious about it and try to do away with the anger which is the key of not sinning when you are angry. See Ephesians 4:31.
Anger is a spirit which must not be entertained in us for long for it can lead to wrath, vengeance, fighting and even destruction of properties.
So therefore, if anger is not cautioned or silenced, it can destroy in a minute what you have laboured for in your entire life. You will agree with me that it takes longer time to build than to destroy. And that is what anger can do if not checked or cautioned, or silenced.
The worst of it is that this anger definitely can lead one to kill or murder, thus leading its victim to hell. See Revelation 21:8; Colossian 35-8; Galatians 2:20.

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.

Thank God for your soul. I congratulate you for the best decision of your life. For further details on how to grow in this new light, please click the CONTACT page or visit TACN or any bible believing church near you and ask for the pastor in charge.
