Thursday 30th May 2019 Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 1 Kings 18:17-24
Topic:- Fearless Man Of God
Text:- 2 Timothy 1:7
A Man of God, Man of fire must not be a fearful person. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. See 2 Timothy 1:7.
It was because of Elijah’s boldness and his fearlessness for Jezebel that he was able to stop rain for 3½ years. Also his fearless spirit made him to hold all the prophets of Baal, four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the Groves/Asherah four hundred which eat at Jezebel’s table in ransom, and killed all of them without fearing Jezebel who was the originator of Baal.
For one to be a Man of God and a Man of fire, he should put away fear because the Bible says that the righteous is as bold as a lion.
For the fact that Elijah is righteous, he has received divine boldness. The Bible says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear, the Lord is the defense of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” See Psalm 27:1.
Though a host of demons encamp against me, my heart will not fear, though war rises against me, even in this I shall be confident. The Lord is with me like a mighty terrible one, I am not afraid.” See Psalm 27:3.
If you are truly a Man of God and desire to be a Man of Fire, fear must be far away from you because there are 365 ‘Fear Not’ in the Bible, and it means that everyday God is telling us not to be fearful.
