Friday 31st May 2019 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 1 Kings 18:30-40
Topic:- Elijah Survived Among The Wolves
Text:- Isaiah 59:19
Here we can see Elijah as a man of God and a man of fire surviving in the midst of the wolves. Who are the wolves? The wolves are the Prophets of Baal, Asherah and Jezebel herself.
They were his greatest enemies because they did not want him to fulfill his destiny. He was able to survive and fulfill his destiny due to the followings:-
1. He surrendered his total life unto God almighty.
2. He knew his enemies. Elijah knew his enemies and he followed the instruction of God strictly, when God told him to run away to Cherith and Zarephath, he did not wait a second. It is written, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12.
3. He knew his God. As It is written, “And such as do wickedly he corrupt by flatteries, but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Elijah understood God very well and he did exploits. You too try to be more familiar and cordial with God in order to move mountain through Him. Daniel 11:32.
4. He knew his battle. You too may be fighting and not even know the battle you are fighting. Do not fight as one beating the air. Elijah knew his battle and he understood what he was doing very well.
5. He knew his weapons. The Lord has given us various weapons to fight our battle, and defend ourselves which includes prayer, word of God, name of Jesus, blood of Jesus, fire of God. All of which are Christian’s weapons to fight our battles to mention just a few.
6. You must fight. Elijah fought to survive, so you too must fight to take back what belongs to you. You must fight to possess your possession.
7. You must learn how to barricade you life. Elijah hid himself in his own case but in this dispensation you do not need to run for the enemy, it is the enemy that will run from you. If your way pleases God. See Proverbs 16:17.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, reveal the secret of my problem to me now by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Oh Lord God, open my inner eye to pray the prayer that will settle my case henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
