Sunday 3rd November 2019 Prayer Devotion
Scripture:- Mark 10:46-52
Topic:- Don’t Let Me Die On This Bed
Text:- Mark 10:49
Many years ago, I went to a Teaching Hospital to pray for a member of my Church who was admitted on the account of a particular ailment.
Quietly, I walked into this Ward that had 20 patients, all females. I bent over that member and whispered some words of prayer for her, because it was a Ward where much shouting was not allowed. I brought out my anointing oil, anointed her and laid my hands on her and prayed again for her. I was done!
As I was leaving the Ward, the woman who was on the bed next to that my member said loudly “Pastor, I don’t want to die on this bed and leave my 3 Children, I don’t have anyone who will take care of them.”
Before I knew, that was the echo from the mouths of almost all the women in that Ward; they were pleading with different words and languages that I should pray for them.
That little noise attracted the attention of the Nurses, who came to find out what was happening. The nurses agreed that I should pray for them very quickly, but without much shouting.
As I stood in the middle of them all and lifted up my hands to pray for them all at the same time, the same woman that was close to that my member shouted, “No, Pastor, I saw what you did for your member, I also want you to anoint me and lay hands on me, I don’t want to die on this bed, because I don’t have anyone who will take care of my 3 Children.”
All the women seemed to echo the same thing. The nurses who were waiting for me to quickly pray and leave, had to leave since there was no emergency. The nurses then said, “Pastor, anytime you’re done with them, you can go.” There was tears in my my heart, and waters in my eyes!
After addressing them all, I stood in the middle of the Ward and prayed generally for them; thereafter, I proceeded to each bed, anointed and laid my hands on them all.
One after the one other, from bed to bed. I left the hospital after I was done. I repeated that hospital 3 times that week, and did the same thing for them all.
From report that was available to me, all the women were discharged from that hospital. And at the end , 5 of the women became members of the Church.
My message here:
Stop wasting your time, posting nonsense things here on Facebook: people with real problems out there are waiting for you to minister to them in any good way.
People are dying; Souls are in real anguish of life. You are to reach out to them with the Good news of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.
Do not be a wasted Christian! Evangelism must have priority after Prayer. This is the time!
Prayer Point:- Oh Lord God, don’t allow me to be a wasted son but to be on fire for You in Evangelism and in action henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Happy Lord’s Day! www.timogundelejesu.com
