Topic:- Darkest Hour Of Jesus Christ [2]
Text:- 1 Corinthians 1:18
The three [3] Darkest Hour In the life of Jesus Christ continued as follows:
3. Whenever you fall into Sin. Whenever you fallen in to sin as a Christian, Christ will be unhappy, and will be darkest hour to Him. See Hebrew 12:1-11.
a. Note the following states of Salvation. [There are three states of Salvation]:
1. Once you come to Jesus, and give your life fully to Him, then, you are Saved. See Acts 4:12; 2 Timothy 1:9.
2. You are also being Saved, i.e. day in day out, daily, you are be saved if you watch your step as you walk with Christ daily. See Phillippians 2:12-13; 1Corinthians 1:18.
3. You shall also be saved, i.e. when Christ shall come again, you shall received final salvation, if you are not in sin, then you will be rapture with Him. See Romans 5:9-10.
b. What to note about Sin in which Christians used to fall into:
1. There is a Sin unto Death. See 1 John 5:16-17.
2. There is a Sin not unto Death. 1 John 5:16-17.
3. There is Secret Sin. See Psalm 90:8.
4. There is Presumptuous Sin. See Psalm 19:13.
5. There are Sins that Easily Beset us. See Hebrew 12:2.
6. There are Sins of the Youth. See Psalm 29:7.
7. There are Sins of the World. See John 1:29.
c. 7 Incidents/Evidence that happen through the Darkest Hour of Jesus Christ. See Matthew 27:45-56.
1. Jesus was given vinegar to drink. See Matthew 27:46-48.
2. Soldiers were expecting Elijah to save Him. See Matthew 27:49.
3. Jesus yielded up the ghost. See Matthew 27:50.
4. The veil of the Temple torn. See Matthew 27:51.
5a. The earth quake. See Matthew 27:51.
b. The rocks rent. See Matthew 27:51.
6. The grave of many faithful opened and many dead saints arose. See Matthew 27:52-53.
7. Many feared and testified. See Matthew 27:54.
d. What worth knowing about Peter:
1. Told by Jesus that he will deny Him, in which he boasted he will never until he eventually did. See Matthew 16:21-23.
2. He eventually did and wept for his sin. See Matthew 26:31-35; 69:75.
3. Jesus later challenge him of his true love to Him. See John 21:1-18.
4. Paul challenge him of his unstable character. See Galatians 2:8-16.
5. The traditional belief on Peter’s death, that he was crucified upside down. See Church History for detail.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, I refuse to deny You in any circumstance, help me to trust and obey You henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Help me oh Lord God not to fall into sin henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Help me oh Lord God in my darkest hours, in the name of Jesus Christ.
