Friday 1st February 2019 Prayer Devotion

Scripture Reading:- Ezekiel 23:1-26

Topic:- Consequences Of Immorality [1]

Text:- Ezekiel 23:8

A. Different Definition Of Immorality.

1. Behaviour contrary to establish moral principles:
a. Like that of Israelites in worship of pagan gods. See Ezekiel 23:8,17.
b. As seen in an adulterous woman. See Proverbs 2:16.
c. As seen in sexual impurity. See 1 Corinthians 5:1.

2. Definition From Greek And Latin Language:
a. The Greek word “porneia” called immorality as not consistent with morals.
b. From Latin word “moralis” which means custom and manners i.e. binding customs of a particular group.
c. Immorality is therefore defined as whatever is contrary to the societal standards of a particular group.

3. Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, 7th Edition:
a. Immorality is the behavior not considered to be good or honest by most people e.g. it’s immoral to steal.
b. Also means an act of not following accepted standards of behavior e.g. living in habitual sexual immorality.

B. What About Morality.

1. In ethics, morality can be defined as having three essential components:
a. A community of responsible agents, i.e. morality concerns our behaviours towards others and their behavior towards us.
b. A shared set of non-material values, such as fairness, truth and compassion.
c. Also, it is a way of life involving a code of behavior.

2. The real issue in our discussion is not morality but immorality, nevertheless on morality, we should note these:
a. Christianity is not morality.
b. It is a religion of some which tries to attribute morality to actions.
c. The real issue therefore is to know the character of God and walk therein, in the following ways:-
● God’s characters are that of purity, holiness, faithfulness, love and so on.
● The only way to have and express such is through spiritual regeneration.
● And lastly, such character of God in us will first be found in thought and emotion, and then in action.
● See John 3:3-8.

Prayer Points:-
1. I command every immoral acts and practice in my life, die to the root by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I command every spirit of immorality operating in my life, what are you waiting for, summersult and die by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Oh Lord my God, operate me now by fire, and let the power of holiness work henceforth in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.

ALTAR CALL

If you want to give your life to Christ; you want your sins forgiven; you want to become a child of God; you want to experience the realities of new birth; you want to make heaven;

Or you were once saved and fell along the line, and now you want to rededicate your life to Christ…

Then pray this short prayer of Faith

Say it loud and mean it:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.

Thank God for your soul. I congratulate you for the best decision of your life. For further details on how to grow in this new light, please click the CONTACT page or visit TACN or any bible believing church near you and ask for the pastor in charge.
