Thursday 27th September 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- John 10:1-14
Topic:- Assurance Of Everlasting Life
Text:- John 10:10
What is meant by eternal or everlasting life? Are you sure you have this everlasting life? The life that has no end. How can you secure this everlasting life? What will it cost you to get there? These questions and many more are what we shall examine today.
Don’t be upset, if you’ve not gotten an answer to the above questions. The learned and religious Nicodemus had the same problem in John 3:1-7; he was thirsty of eternal life, and Jesus Christ gave him the necessary conditions. He became born again and by so doing have the assurance of salvation, John 7:50-51; 19:39.
Zachaeus was another good example. Initially, he thought his restitutions and good deeds to the poor will earn him eternal life, but he got to know the true picture when he met with Jesus Christ. See Luke 19:1-10.
Another example is Cornelius the Centurion in Caesarea. The Bible described him as a God-fearing man, generous, devoted and prayerful man. These human qualities could not earn him the needed salvation; God Himself ministered to him through His angel and Peter. It was this divine visitation that changed his life, he and his household were baptized by the Holy Spirit to confirm that their salvation was sure. See Acts 10:1-48.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh God, I invite You anew into my life, come into my life and save me completely, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I declared, the everlasting life of Christ is for me and will not slip away from me in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I command any power that want to tarnish and toil with my salvation, die by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Fulfilling Thursday!
