Topic:- Asenath The Woman Behind Joseph Success
Text:- Genesis 41:45
Have you ever reason it out why did Pharaoh gave Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah a Priest of On to Joseph in marriage and not one of his daughters. Why is it that Asenath the daughter of his Temple Priest was the one chosen?
Do you think king Pharaoh was out of his mind when he gave her in marriage. Why is it that the first person and name that came to his mind was Asenath?
Am not sure if this young lady was in the Palace Court when Pharaoh asked his servants to bring Joseph. Because the matter that generate Joseph name was a serious issue that concern only Elders, dignitary wise men of the land.
There is something special about this lady that caught king’s attention on before Joseph aappear before Pharaoh. That decision was not made out of emergency or necessity , it was a deliberate and conscious action.
Am sure this lady was not be there when Pharaoh asked his servants to bring Joseph. She will be surprised and and afraid by the time kings servants came to fetch her. See Genesis 41:45.
Word of God did not say much about ASENATH the wife of Joseph, rather than she was daughter of Potiphera Priest of On [Heliopolis]. But the exploit of Joseph on the throne reflect something about the quality and character strength of his wife and even the peace of mind he enjoyed at home.
You can’t congratulate a young, gifted, talented, successful and vibrant man (Barchelor), until he get married. Because his marriage determined huge portion to his greatness. For a man like Joseph of great responsibilities to have have a right, good and godly home you need to praise his wife. As important as conception (pregnancy), people don’t celebrate until the baby is delivered alive.
For Pharaoh to give out Asenath to Joseph the Hebrew young man in marriage, it means Pharaoh has seen some quality character and sense of responsibility in Asenath. Who knows may be king has been studying and noticing her polite way of greetings, submissive, diligence and well cultured lifestyle. As daughter of a Priest she maintain her dignity.
Pharaoh did not consult her parent, he didn’t receive any counsel from his Chiefs. He did not give room for panels of Judges and committees to present wife to the new and first foreign Prime Minister. Asenath was not subject to human suggestion, she was pick because the hand of God was behind her.
You may think is because of blessing Joseph received from his father that influence his positive impact. Thank God for the blessings, but one thing is certain about this man, his wife is the voice behind the scene.
Marriage was the last event the day Pharaoh coronate and commissioned Joseph. His purpose and assignments was well spell out. He was empowed before he was deployed.
ASENATH was mentioned three times in the Bible, she’s somebody like LAPIDOTH the husband of Deborah. Lapidoth was mentioned once in the Bible, but his work and impact reflect on Deborah’s life and ministry.
Apart from those who are faking it, if you study the life of those who are doing well in life and ministry, you will discover that they have good homes.
God is not unjust judge, He knows what no one knows, you may not be recognized by men, He knows those who are living right according to his command . He your promotion is in His hands.
Keep the fire of righteousness burning, your secret and silent labour are not go unnoticed, heaven keep your records safe and intact.
Maintain a good relationship with your creator and godly character to your neighbours. Cherish oil on your head and keep your garment neat and tidy. Do not allow anything to come between you and God. Please take time to appreciate Asenath in the life of Joseph.

1. Oh Lord God, let me and my spouse be in love together that our marriage will be in good health to help others, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Power to be successful in ministry, let it come upon me and my spouse henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I will be successful in my marriage and my ministry, help me oh Lord God henceforth by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
