Friday 21st September 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- Isaiah 60:1-15
Topic:- Arise And Shine
Text:- Isaiah 60:1
The opposite of arise and shine need to be discussed before we know the reasons why we need to arise and shine.
For you to arise, it means that you are down before, you are unable to move from one position to the next level. That is, you are stationed in one particular place i.e. stagnant in one place for long.
For you to shine means that for long you are unable to be seen, you have been forgotten and not been remembered.
You are neglected and forsaken and thereby miracles are passing you over.
The great examples of these can be seen in the life of the neglected tied colt in Mark 11:1-11. Glory be to God, for God is saying that you need to arise and shine.
There was two remarkable statements. Firstly, you need to arise and shine because your light has come i.e. the Lord who is the light, and that want you not to be in darkness has come to visit you because He is the light of the world. See Matthew 5:14.
And secondly, you need to arise and shine because the glory of that Lord Jesus is risen upon you i.e. your covered glory has seen the glory of the Lord which will definitely make you to shine. Even if buried, it will be exhumed and locate you.
Another great example is the story of blind Barthemeaus in Mark 10:46-52.
It is now your time to begin to shine. Arise, shine, for yours is the glory of God.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Oh Lord God, make me to rise and shine henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I will arise and shine henceforth, for my light and glory has come to be seen, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I command! Whatever is on my way as a stumbling block and making me not to shine, become my stepping stone now, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Happy Weekend!
