SCRIPTURE READING:- 2 SAMUEL 10
TOPIC:- AMMONITES ARE IDOLATROUS
TEXT:- GENESIS 19:38
The meaning of the name Ammon in Hebrew is son of my people. The Ammonites were the children of Lot, Deuteronomy 2:19.
They were a cruel, covetous, proud, vindictive, and idolatrous nation, Judges 10:6; Ezekiel 25:3, 6; Amos 1:13; Zephaniah 2:10.
Their chief city was Rabbah, 2 Samuel 12:26-27, from which they were governed by hereditary kings, Jeremiah 27:3.
They had various encounters with Israel. They oppressed Israel for eighteen years, Judges 10:7-9.
King Saul succeeded against them, 1Samuel 11:11. David and Joab also overcame them too, 2 Samuel10:7-14. But Solomon intermarried with their women and introduced their idols into Israel, 1Kings 11:1-5.
The Ammonites must be removed from you forever, otherwise all those evil perpetuated by them will be evidently seen in our lives.
Therefore, they must die forever in our lives. Otherwise, incest will be the order of the day, God forbid!
Prayer Points:-
1. I silence all spirit of cruelty, covetousness, pride, vindictive and idolatory in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I silence the spirit of fornication and adultery in my life by the power in the blood of Jesus.
3. O Lord God, repair and restore my life of all what pride, cruelty, covetousness, idolatory, fornication and adultery has introduced into my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
