Friday 24th August 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- Genesis 27:27-40
Topic:- Addressing Your Destiny [1]
Text:- 1 Chronicles 4:9
In today’s topic we will be talking about the story of Jacob and how his God-given destiny was toyed with until it affected him positively. This will be discussed in ten ways:
1. Jacob’s destiny was delayed because his mother was barren for a long time before God opened her womb. The delayed destiny was however solved by prayer. If you too find out that God’s promises for you are delayed, why can’t you wait on Him in prayer? See Genesis 25:19-21.
2. Jacob’s real destiny as promised by God was later found with problem but solved by enquiry from God. This is what we too must do when we find ourselves in problem or in a fix even with God-given directives, we ask from God and not by other means. See Genesis 22-23.
3. When Jacob was born, he came out of the belly of his mother as twins, though he came out as the second but he held to his brother Esau’s heel i.e. he was struggling to come out first but came out as prophecy fulfilled on him. You cannot change your destiny but can only work to make it effective or be idle to destroy it. See Genesis 25:24-26.
4. Jacob’s destiny was named wrongly i.e. that his parent tampered with his destiny by giving him a wrong name. Jacob means “Supplanter” and “deceiver”. It also means “struggler” to survive and a “cheat”. These are the names given to him by his parents. Yours too can be likened to that. Never you worry, don’t give up. God is still concerned about you. It is even an opportunity for God to work on you if you give Him a chance. See Genesis 25:26-27. Note I Chronicles 4:9-10.
Prayer Points:-
1. I command every bareness in my destiny, disappear and become fertile for my prosperity in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Oh God, I refuse to be led astray, reveal Your will unto me for me to walk there in, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I command, I won’t be tail any longer but the head, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Happy Weekend!
