Wednesday 15th August 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- John 1:40-51
Topic:- 7 Names That Qualified You For Making Heaven [2]
Text:- John 3:3,5
5. A Disciple: Disciple is one who grows in Christ and in so doing models and teaches Christians the precepts of the Bible, prayer, doctrine, relationship, Christian living, service, and worship, to name the main ones, Matthew 4:19; 9:9. Jesus did not mean that they should just physically follow Him on the road. They were set apart, challenged, and taught their call and mission. Just as they had worked at catching fish, now they would be catching men, Luke 6:39-40.
The word “disciple” literally means someone who pledges to be a “learner.” Moreover, it is someone who follows another teaching, and adheres to it. It is a commitment and a process. It involves commitment, and time to undertake the learning, and, as a Christian, a yearning to imitate Jesus, John 1:40-51. Discipleship is also reciprocal, that is, when one learns, he/she makes the commitment to train someone else. Jesus said, “I will make you fishers of men.” It is not just catching them and then storing them (fish were processed and sold for the betterment and use of the community). It is training, and placing, so they, too, can catch, train, and make men to be Christian, Acts 9:10-18.
6. Child of God: When the Bible talks about God’s children, it means people who have a relationship with God because of their belief and trust in Him for salvation. Many people in the world worship idols of gold, or stone. They do not know about Jesus and that He died on the cross. God does not make any one obey Him if they do not want to. If they do not want to have a relationship with Him, He will not make them do it. People who know about God and know that Jesus died for their sins and believe in Jesus can be God’s true children.6. Many people in the world worship idols of gold, or stone. They do not know about Jesus and that He died on the cross. God does not make any one obey Him if they do not want to. If they do not want to have a relationship with Him, He will not make them do it. People who know about God and know that Jesus died for their sins and believe in Jesus can be God’s true children. Our faith connects us to God and Jesus. Our being willing to believe and trust Jesus to forgive our sins brings us into a relationship with Him. He becomes our Savior. God becomes our father. Believing Jesus to forgive us and give us a home in heaven some day is a big step of faith in becoming God’s child. See John 1:10-13; Romans 8:9-17.
7. The Redeemed: These are not the members of RCCG per say, but those that have been redeemed and wash by the blood of Jesus, and continue to live a pleasing life in the eyes of people and mainly in the eyes of God, Isaiah 35:9; Matthew 7:21-23; Revelation 20:15.
Prayer Points:-
1. I command every habit of mine that still need to change and be born again, let fire of Holy Ghost deliver me completely, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. My Lord Jesus Christ, help me to make it with you at the end or when you come the second time, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I declared, heaven is for me, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have A Beautiful Mid-Week!
