Friday 5th October 2018 Morning Prayer Devotion
Scripture Reading:- 2 Samuel 6:1-23
Topic:- Being Sincere Is The Best
Text:- 2 Samuel 6:22
Daughter: Mom are you ok?
Mom: Yes, hunny am ok. She smiles.
Daughter: But you dont look ok mom!
Mom: Sweetheart, I have to tell you a secret.
Daughter: What secret mom?
Mom: I left something for you at home in my drawer, its in a brown envelope.
Daughter: Is it money mom?
Mom: Just look for it when you get home. Now i need to rest.
Daughter: Why mom? Whats wrong?
Mom: Nothing dear, Mommy is gona be okay.
Daughter: Promise me Mom?
Mom: Mommy loves you okay!
Daughter: Love you more Mom.
And that was Mommy’s last words to her daughter. She died, and may her soul rest in peace.
And when the daughter got home, she went straight to Mommy’s room, and search her drawer for the brown envelope, and thank God, she found it. It was a letter written by Mom.
The Letter:
Dear baby, i know life aint gona be the same without me, and things will be tough. But i just want you to know that Mommy loves you and will always love you. I did what i did to protect you, i had to transplant my heart to you, so that you survive. I know i should ve told you, but i just couldnt because I knew it was gona to break your heart. Take care of yourself darling. I will always be there with you, in your heart.
Yours: Mommy!
And the girl cried tears out, because, her Mom could do anything for her child just because she is the best hero to her.
Another Story:
An engineer in a car manufacturing company designs a world class car. The CEO is impressed with the outcome and praised him a lot.
While trying to bring out the car from the manufacturing area to the showroom, they realised that the car is 2 inches taller than the entrance.
The engineer felt bad that he didn’t notice this one before creating the car.
The CEO was confused on how to take it outside of the manufacturing area.
The painter said that they can bring out the car and there will be a few scratches on top of the car which could be touched up later on.
The engineer said that they can break the entrance, take the car out, and later re-do it.
The CEO was not convinced with any ideas and felt like it is a bad sign to break or scratch.
A watchman was observing all the drama and slowly approached the CEO. He wanted to give an idea if they had no problem.
They wondered what this guy would tell them that the experts could not give.
The watchman said “The car is only a few inches taller than the entrance so, simply release the air in the tyre, the height of the car will sink and can be easily taken out.”
Everyone clapped!
Don’t analyse the problems only from an expert point of view alone. There is always a layman’s outlook that gives an alternative solution at a given point of time.
Life issues are also the same. Think Simple. Do simple and live simple. Because originally, we are happy souls.
Release some air. It could be our anger, our disappointments, our egos, our confusions.
In the end it’s all about, “adjusting the height” i.e. attitude. So as to make things easier in life and uncomplicate the things in life.
Prayer Points:-
1. Oh Lord God, help me to be faithful and sincere in all my ways henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Oh my Lord God, make me to be original henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. I refuse to be selfish, oh Lord God, help me to love without conditions henceforth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
