Topic:- 11 Indisputable And Amazing Proofs That Jesus Is God [2]
Text:- Deuteronomy 6:4
- Creation:
Attributes which belong exclusively to God and are also shared by Jesus. Indeed, anybody who shares any of these attributes rightly deserves to be addressed as God.
God alone is the Creator of everything that is original. Unlike human creators who depend on the materials that God has already created to make their own designs, God did not borrow or take materials from any creator to create the heavens and the earth and everything in them.
This alone sets Him far above everything else that exists. This is the same act that is credited to Jesus. See John 1:1-3; 10.
There you have it plainly written in the Bible. “Through” Jesus, the Word, “all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”
But Muslims will argue that the Bible, especially the New Testament, is corrupted. So let us go to their holy book and read what it says about Jesus (Isa) and the biggest act of creation, which is giving life to a non-living thing to become a living thing. See Surah Al-Ma’idah [5:110].
The Quran. PICKTHALL: “When Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My favour unto thee and unto thy mother; how I strengthened thee with the holy Spirit, so that thou spakest unto mankind in the cradle as in maturity; and how I taught thee the Scripture and Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and how thou didst shape of clay as it were the likeness of a bird by My permission, and didst blow upon it and it was a bird by My permission, and thou didst heal him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and how thou didst raise the dead by My permission; and how I restrained the Children of Israel from (harming) thee when thou camest unto them with clear proofs, and those of them who disbelieved exclaimed: This is naught else than mere magic.”
So many incredible things are credited to Jesus in the Quran verse above, including raising the dead back to life. But my interest is in where He moulded clay into a bird form then He breathed into it to become a living bird. Only God can do that!
It is similar to the act of creating Adam and Eve with the dust of the ground and the breath of life in the Garden of Eden. No other person by whatever title, living or dead, has been credited with forming anything and breathing into it to become a living being. If this does not make Jesus God I wonder what else. - Salvation:
God alone can save. Salvation, which is first and foremost, a restoration of the nature of God in fallen man and ultimately a restoration of the world back to its edenic beauty, is as important as creation.
The Member of the Godhead, in the Person of Jesus, through whom all things were created, is also the One through whom all things are recreated, restored or saved.
His title of Messiah in Hebrew, Christ in Latin and Masih in Arabic is unique and exclusive to Him. It carries with it the mission of Salvation.
The One who saves has to be God because only the God who created man in His image can restore him back to His image. Jesus is therefore God because He is the Saviour and only God can save. - Omnipotence:
Nothing is impossible with God for with Him all things are possible. Jesus Christ proved that He was God while on earth by performing mind blowing acts as recorded in the Bible and affirmed by the Quran.
Through His virgin birth, speaking in the cradle like a mature person, feeding thousands by multiplying one person meal, calming the storm, walking on the sea, raising the dead, cleansing lepers, healing every kind of sickness and disease, enduring tortures and pains, going through the crucifixion, giving up His life, being buried, resurrecting and ascending up to Heaven, Jesus demonstrated that there was nothing He wanted to do that He could not do. Only God alone can do that.
Prayer Point:- Oh Lord God, i have made You my my Lord, my Saviour and my God, I refuse to be for any other by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
